Description
Perhaps one of the finest and most unique magazine rifles that we’ve had through the shop in our 60 years of business! This exquisite custom rifle is featured on pages 49-52 of “CUSTOM RIFLES in black & white” by Steven Dodd Hughes. Therein, the provenance of this Ottmar masterpiece is documented and preserved. Built on a commercial Mauser action from J.P. Sauer & Son, it dates a pre-WWI manufacture. The barrel transition, from octagon to round, is almost without notice, and is topped with an integral full-length matted rib. Ottmar’s layout and execution are flawless, topped off the classic European side panels and double schnable forend! A most interesting and chamber insert is fitted in the rear sling swivel trap door, allowing for firing of 32 ACP. For the serious rifle collector, this is a must have rifle and will stand out in any collection of fine rifles. This rifle is the epitome of elegant and simple, sophistication!
