Below are some of the most frequent and common questions we are asked……If you need additional information, or have further questions, please feel free to give us a call, we will do our best to answer them!
Extreme Custom Ammo
What is custom ammunition?
Our “Extreme” Custom Ammunition is just that…..Custom! Each round is handcrafted with the utmost care, and an emphasis on exactness and precision. We do have standard loading data we have developed, however if you have specific needs we are happy to discuss and build a custom load for you.
I already have load data, you will you use it?
Typically, the answer is yes. As long as the data is deemed to be within safe pressure standards and we have, or can source, the components we are happy to accommodate your request.
Do you offer reloading services?
No, we DO NOT reload fired brass, we produce only new ammunition.
Are the listed muzzle velocities correct?
We have taken great care to provide accurate muzzle velocities. However many factors effect muzzle velocity, including:
- Twist Rate
- Barrel Length
- Round Count
- Rifling Type
- Chamber & Throat Dimensions
- Bore & Groove Diameters
- Environmental Conditions
If your results are more than 5% different than listed velocities please contact us.
Do you offer lead-free bullet options?
Yes! Barnes TSX, Tipped TSX, and LRX are lead free options. We also offer the Hammers Bullets, as well as Hornady CX, and Nosler E-Tip. In certain calibers we offer Cutting Edge bullets as well. If you do not see what you are looking for please contact us.
Can you ship ammunition to California residents?
Ammunition cannot be shipped directly to California residents, it must ship to an FFL dealer who can perform the California background check.
I do not see what I need, do you have calibers and offerings that are not listed?
Yes, there are many cartridges and offerings that are not listed. Please contact us and we will be happy to speak with you. We are constantly updating the website, please check back as well.
How do you ship orders?
Orders are shipped UPS ground. Air shipments of ammunition are not allowed.
Why does the overall length of my ammunition vary?
Even the best and finest bullets will vary slightly in overall length, the measurement from base to tip, so the COAL (Cartridge Overall Length) will vary.
The CBTO (Cartridge Base to Ogive) measure is much more precise and accurate, because the ogive is consistent through the manufacturing process.
Using a bullet comparator, you find that our ammunition will vary no more than +/-.002″ when measuring CBTO.
Once an order is placed, how long will it be before it ships?
Due to the high demand for ammunition our current lead time is 2-3 weeks.
All of our ammunition is loaded to order, we carry and extensive inventory of brass, bullets and components, most orders ship within 10 days of placing the order. If, for some reason, there is an issues with your order we will email you with details.
What if I'm not happy with the performance of the ammunition I ordered?
In the event you are not happy with the performance of our ammunition, please contact us, we will do everything we can to work with you.
Do you offer sample, or variety packs?
Currently, we are not offering sample packs…..Once inventories are most consistent, we hope to continue this.
Do you offer neck turning services?
Yes, please call and we will be happy to discuss your needs/questions.
Do you offer reduced recoil, reduced velocity ammunition?
Yes, we can custom tailor a load to your exact needs!
Do you supply ballistic charts/data?
Yes, we can supply you with accurate ballistic information. Ballistic charts are included with each order! If you need them for specific environmental conditions please contact us.
Will you provide load data for my order, ie, powder type and weight.
No, we do not provide load data. The only exception is when we receive a rifle for full load development.
