Our favorites for 220 Swift ammo are: Berger 52gr & 55gr Match Varmint, Sierra 52gr MatchKing & 55gr BlitzKing, Hornady 55gr V-Max.
For deer size game and hogs the Barnes 45gr & 50gr TSX and the Norma 55gr Oryx are spectacular and the only suitable hunting bullets that will stabilize in 1-14″ twist barrels, which is the standard twist rate in almost every 220 Swift rifle.
Muzzle Velocities w/ 24″ Barrel:
- 36gr bullets – 4500 FPS
- 40gr bullets – 4200 FPS
- 50gr &52gr bullets – 3700 FPS
- 55gr bullets – 3650 FPS
